You Built What?

We are building a library of QuickBase applications, where users can  "check out" applications built by other QuickBase users. We are going to start the library based on applications that Intuit employees have built to accomplish their work, but we hope to get the greater community involved.

A recent Fast Company article covered a contest by Weldbond (glue) called "You Glued What?". (The examples given are amusing!) It reminded me of our continued amazement at what you all build in QuickBase, and I thought, maybe these two ideas should be combined. Should we have a "You Built What?" contest to launch our library?

In the community post, I mentioned this an idea to expand the community. Like open source application templates. There are many users with vast knowledge as various uses of the application. It would be great to have an area where customers can post theirs. This would also provide a larger library then currenlty listed.

Maybe have a list of specific categories and run contest for the best applications, winner get bragging rights, highlighted on your site, and a prize (cool t shirt or other prize). This should make users to want to post.

We stumbled across Quickbase by pressing the wrong button on Quickbooks about 2 months ago.
Today we have migrated over a dozen former disjointed Access and Excel based “applications” to the big Q.
All the applications are WIP ‘works in progress’ but a heluva lot better than we had before and moving towards one version of the “truth”.

We are now sharing with stakeholders in 4 countries , pilots, charter companies , suppliers and yes even our bankers.

As we are ready to show-off we will surely post our major apps here , and yes our task lists and common priorities are on the bigQ.
