I use Chrome almost exclusively, EXCEPT for QuickBase. QB's grid edit does not work well with Chrome, as I'm often unable to type characters into cells. This is somewhat key functionality for the way I use QuickBase.

I have been using Firefox, and will consider Chrome once it gets out of Beta. However, Firefox 3.1 that uses TraceMonkey is supposed to be even better with JavaScript. I just hope that with the increasing share of Firefox, QuickBase will be made more compatible for Firefox. For example, the copy parent children Javascript routine does not work properly and the report headings do not freeze at the top or left of the page when viewing a report that is too long or too wide to fit on the screen at once. Telling customers this is because QuickBase is designed for Internet Explorer is less credible.

I regulary access Quickbase on my iphone and it is very limited: the menus do not displayed and in case the report is a long one it is not fully loaded and you are not able to see the full report, only the beginning. Do you have a similar experience? Any solutions found?

Yes, Chrome is faster. I tested it with two identical side-by-side computers. Loading/showing QB reports takes 25-50% less time with Chrome. Opening attached PDF files takes 2-3 times longer. But the Table Customizing features (Properties, Fields, Forms, Reports, etc.), were twice as fast! Adding a new field has never been this quick. I also like the look/feel of Chrome. Nevertheless, I'll stick with IE7 because it's the preference of nearly all of my users.

Try to grid edit a quickbase app with Chrome and copy & paste. Mine didn't work. My personal experience so far is being excellent since I~m a lot involved Quickbase applications design & maintenance, however FF3 is still my choice.

Quickbase would benefit from being more mobile. You guys even have a third party developer who has a system that works on Windows mobile, but I stumbled upon them by fluke. Why not trumpet that system? I switched our whole company to a new cell phone provider 2 months before I found out about the Windows mobile solution. Had I know at the time all of my project managers would have WM phones but I now need to wait til 3 year contracts expire.
