Nominate a QuickBase Hero to Win an iPad2!

We hear a lot of stories about customers tackling business challenges of epic proportions using QuickBase. Its high time we celebrate their accomplishments! That’s why we’re launching the QuickBase Hero Search to find the individual who best personifies the QuickBase Hero. And we’re throwing in a 16G iPad2 for the winner and QuickBase Hero capes for the first 80 entrants.

Who Are QuickBase Heroes?

QuickBase Heroes are the folks who swoop in and create solutions for all kinds of problems. Like magic they translate complex business processes into applications, get a solution up in minutes to solve a pressing need, or create apps to organize the most chaotic projects. Put simply, QuickBase Heroes build the apps that run your businesses, improve your team productivity, and drive better business outcomes.

There are many kinds of Heroes out there and they hail from teams across your organization. Some of the most common places to find Heroes are Sales, HR, Marketing, IT and your management.  Since QuickBase enables most administrators to grant app creation rights to users, anyone can build a solution if they’re given the permissions. And the solutions people can build are endless. From CRM, to human resources, to IT management, where there’s a QuickBase Hero, there’s an app for that. If you haven’t had the opportunity to prove yourself has a Hero, ask your admin for app creation rights and fasten on your cape!

This is your forum to celebrate the QuickBase Heroes at your organization. Does this description sound like you? Feel free to nominate yourself! Either way, you’re in the running to win an iPad2!

Your submission should include the following in under 300 words:

  • The Problem(s) – What challenge did you or your team have? (i.e. Crazy deadlines, inefficient workflow, scattered teams, time-consuming process etc).
  • The QuickBase Solution(s) – How did the QuickBase Hero use QuickBase to help you solve this problem? Discuss in as much detail as you’re comfortable, what solution was created to address the problem identified above.
  • The Outcomes – What happened as a result of the QuickBase Hero creating a solution for your problem? (i.e. Saved time or money, delivered outstanding business results, did the impossible, etc).

Contest Rules:

  • To be eligible, you must  submit before May 20, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. ET
  • First 80 entrants will receive a custom QuickBase Hero cape
  • The winner will be selected by an Intuit panel based on the QuickBase Hero definition above.

    Aurora Flores and Diana Miller are the dynamic duo! These two have stayed until 2:30 AM getting apps developed for clients. Problem: dozens of spreadsheets w/ stale info. Solution: highly integrated and automated app within a realm. Outcome: HAPPY client and efficiency that was so significant, they were able to reallocate staff that was no longer needed to do the work. Savings: 40 hours/week on data entry!!!

    Would be better if the submission form had a box for ‘nominee’ and/or ‘nominee’s email address’. That way if it’s not all about you, it’s a clear identification of who is being nominated.

    Laura Hillier has been a hero when it comes to our Quickbase Solutions. We run a very challenging Business Unit and have a large number of entries each day. As our data began to grow we realized that there were several issues with out of control processes creating large redundant entries. Laura was able to streamline our Applications with respect to our internal procedures and deliver aligned, simple applications to fit with our business needs. Our Fleet Safety Application is an excellent example: We have a large number of Technicians driving in Canada with Laura’s assistance we were able to streamline our application to produce the following:

    1. Authorized Drivers based on risk (four levels low, caution, probation and restricted)

    2. Manage training of each driver

    3. Evaluate each driver to a class of equipment or type of vehicle

    4. Align infraction points to a company safe work program (standard across the country)

    5. Created a dispatch view so drivers records follow them no matter where they are dispatched to work

    With this implementation we have seen great results to help us deliver a Higher Level of Reliability when it comes to our Fleet. Knock on wood but I have not yet seen a Serious Motor Vehicle Incident since the rollout of this program and it has almost been two years.

    Laura Hillier is my QuickBase hero. She understood our twist on the CRM model and helped to quickly put together a CRM that is now in use. She knew what questions to ask, and had exceptional follow through and customer service answering questions on days and times I would not have expected answers. She went above and beyond.

    Melissa Ritter has worked with us for years, both part-time and full-time, as someone that can make the impossible become possible in QuickBase. Restructuring? Need to change everything around, and quickly? No problem. Need to create an app that tracks every possible aspect of a project from A to Z, complete with insanely flexible and lengthy drop-downs menus and endless customizations? Melissa is the person to go to.

We, as a company, have grown exponentially in the past 5 years especially, both in number of projects and in breadth. Our overhauls are sometimes one week in the making, or a day.

    We manage a very large number (tens upon tens of thousands) of image records in a variety of production stages and formats, and have to be able to set access individually for users of many different departments, link these records to different projects, all while making it look clean and organized. She’s done this for years, and with a smile.

    Because of her QB skills, we’re able to work without headache. And for the hundreds of users she oversees, that’s enough.

    JLodge is a company that monitors customer service calls, chats, and e-mails from customer call centers around the world.  Our team leader was basically MIA, working on 3 accounts. With insane monthly deadlines and processes that required multiple applications open, running, and consulted – we were always behind the eight-ball. Our call evaluation goal was 12 minutes; but was effectively running at more than 30 minutes per evaluation. Many evaluations were deleted due to multiple or incorrect submissions. Many agents were being searched for by multiple evaluators – duplicating time and effort.The team leader was fired. A new team leader – MS KATIE DOWNEY – was hired.  She immediately saw how our team was struggling. How we were losing great analysts due to frustration – AND we were dangerously close to losing the account completely!   After consulting with our IT team and the company. She was able to reduce the number of open applications from more than 8 to only 4. She was able to incorporate many processes into the quickbase application to ensure agent/ID/date and comment accuracy.  Increasing the information provided the customer on agent availability, length of available calls, and customer trends tracked over time. The Outcomes – Our average audit time has decreased from 32 to 17 minutes!  Evaluation disputes have plummeted over 90%.  And above all, our stress levels have decreased significantly! Katie continually strives to see how Quickbase can work for our team to streamline our workload and increase our efficiency and vendor satisfaction. She’s a quickbase hero if there ever was one!
