I want to capture the date that a status field changed in a date field, and I don't want the date field to change unless the status field changed. How can I do this?

This can be accomplished by adding a new table to your application and using the snapshot property of a date field.

If I create a application using a Template, can I add, change, or remove fields and views?

Yes. Templates are provided to help you get started. Once you create a new application using a template, open the appliction and select Customize > Tables. This screen contains tabs that let you customize your application to meet your needs.
