The simplest way to update a document stored in a file attachment field is to edit the record containing the document, and click on file link next to the file attachment field's entry box.

If you edit a document and want to ensure that no one updates it while you are editing it:

While QuickBase only displays the name and a time/date stamp of the most recent person who has changed a record, you can use a text field with the append only option turned on to keep track of changes made to the record.

The "Edit" and "Display" Icons shown in table reports can be displayed in one of two styles: Descriptive or Small

This is a user-defined setting, effective for all applications with which user interacts, and is controlled via the User Preferences for each user.

Certain fields are never editable directly. These include the five built-in fields, all formula fields, and all lookup fields. In addition fields that were at one time reference fields can behave in such a way that they don't display either a read-only or an editable value. Here is the situation that creates these former uneditable reference fields.

The Google toolbar now has a spell check feature that works really well on web forms. This means that you can do spell checking when adding or editing records in QuickBase. The Google toolbar is available from:
