You can limit the number of characters end users can enter or store in a field. Use this feature to help avoid data-entry mistakes in text fields. Carriage returns count as one character.

Be aware that if you choose to put a character limit on a text field that is set to append, QuickBase will add up all characters entered into the field, which includes the history contained in the field as well as the user name and time stamp marking each entry.
