Redirect to Parent Record after creating new related child recor

I am seeing an issue when I create a new child record from a master record.

I create the master record which has a button to add a child record. System prompts me to save the master record first (I do) and then redirects me to the child record entry screen. After I enter my data and click save, I am redirected to a NEW Master record rather than the related master record. Why is this happening? this is critical functionality to have for data entry, especially when we are trying to enter multiple child records linked to the master record.

It seems related to these recently updated bugs: QBE007358, QBE007646

Please advise with a work around, instructions, or time line for a resolution.
