Trim doesn't seem to work

I don't understand, what Can I possibly doing wrong?
after some data load from CSV's all the records were passed with leading spaces, so instead of altering each one of them, what I did was creating a formula text with trim([Field]), just that and nothing else. Now, when I try to use that field to concatenate some other values in another formula field, the leading text is still there!!!
What am I missing here?
If anyone can help me, I will deeply appreciate it!

Thanks,

Regards,
LRBH
