QuickBase Release Notes: July 13, 2014

This article describes our July 13, 2014 QuickBase release.

Do you have an idea for improving QuickBase?  You can share your suggestions by either clicking the orange feedback tab on the My Apps page, or visiting the Customer Feedback for Intuit QuickBase forum (http://quickbase.uservoice.com).

What's New in QuickBase?

This section describes the changes that appear in QuickBase for the July release. See the Release Notes PDF for all the details.

Easier access to Address field sub-fields

Each Address field has six sub-fields that hold the components of the address. You can now find the field IDs and labels for the sub-fields in the Advanced section of the Address field properties page. Access to this information is of particular interest to app builders using Exact Forms and developers using our API.

Note: The field IDs shown in the image above are from a specific table; the address sub-fields in your table will probably be different.

Changes to View Billing History page

The order of the columns shown on the View Billing History page has been changed to increase readability.

Coming soon: Updated user picker on forms

Over the next few weeks, we will be rolling out a new user picker for User and List-User fields on forms. The new user picker offers an improved UI with integrated type-to-search functionality – no more need to search in a separate dialog! Get the Release Notes PDF for all the details, but here's a look at the way User and List-User fields will look on your forms:

Search Box

Any possibility that the multi-choice drop down can have the choice to also be a search box, similar to the current user search box?  Currently, we have drop downs with many choices, and while we can search by one letter, it would be more usefull to be able to search for an entire word.

re: search box

The field showing above the list of users (for both User and List-User fields) is a search field -- type into it and the list of matching users are shown. Apologies if the image above isn't clear. The details of search and other new functionality are described in the Release Notes PDF.

Hope this helps,

user-list with search

i found the search box in the user-list to be very very helpful, esp with dropdowns of 100+ names.  my current company has 200 names and my previous company had 900 names.

To clarify something a little

To clarify something a little further, the input field functions as a search field too, so once you start typing the dropdown will filter out all the names that don't match. You won't be forced the scroll through 200+ names to find the person you want!

re: search in user fields

When your account gets the new user picker functionality, give it a test, and please let us know what your experience is.

Regards,

Address Sub-fields

We currently do not have the ability to push data to the address subfields using the AddRecord function. Will the update fix this bug?

re: address sub-fields

Yes, this enhancement was completed to address QBE009141, which was originally reported as an issue with using API_AddRecord to populate address sub-fields.
