To reflect the new way of doing things?

wrong URL

Hi Adam --

It looks like you are accessing our help system for the older version of QuickBase. The New QuickBase help system uses "user-assistance", not "help" in the URL. So, try for the latest info.

Since all our customers are now using the New QuickBase, I'm guessing you might have bookmarked this link at some time in the past. If that's not the case, could you please let me know how you got to that link? We haven't yet removed the old help system, but we will be doing that in the future, and I'd like to make any necessary changes before that happens.

Thanks for writing in -- we're glad to hear about things that may need fixing.

relationships - canceling edit in detail table

Before May 12, 2013 -- If I had a master table with an 'add record' field and I was editing a record and clicked the 'add record' button, I was forwarded to the detail table in edit mode; when I canceled the edit in the detail table I stayed in the detail table; when I saved the record, I was forwarded back to the master table.

After May 12, 2013 -- both the save and cancel actions brought me back to the master table. I was overjoyed by this new unexplained improvement.

However, on May 20, 2013 the system has reverted back to the old frustrating action.(I had not tested in 2 or 3 days).

Was anything changed by Inuit several days after the new release?

RE: 'relationships - canceling edit in detail table'

Hi Michael,

In this situation I would open a case via the Support Portal at so one of your support reps can take a look and see whether the redirect behavior had changed.

Can we "tighten" new graphs

The new graphs look nice, but they're taking up too much space in my application.  Users now need the scrollbars in order to view the graphs we have showing on dashboards, which obviously defeats the point of a dashboard!  Is there any way to tighten up the graphs so they take up less space?

RE: 'can we "tighten" new graphs'

Hi Melissa,

Unfortunately it's not currently possible to make the new graphs smaller. If you have a minute it would be great if you could visit our feedback site and make sure your idea is listed there:

Notice today that the recent record button is now missing from the top right side?

See Favorites button

Hi Bryan --

The Recents have been included under the Favorites button. The Release Notes PDF (linked in the article) has details of how the new functionality works.

Email Capabilities

Can you email a table to an individual not registered to Quickbase?

RE: 'Email Capabilities'

Yes! You can send email notifications and subsriptions to non-registered users. For security reasons, this ability is turned off by default. When you create a new email in QuickBase, if your account has public emails turned on, you'll get two options - Recipient, which you can send to registered users, and Open, which can be sent to anyone.

If you've checked with your account admin and you need this turned on, you'll need to enter a support request to get that enabled:

Can QuickBase export/import

Can QuickBase export/import to pdf?

RE: 'Can QuickBase export/import'

QuickBase can import and export into 3 file types: .CSV (Comma-separated values), .TSV (Tab-separated values), and .XLSX (MS Excel 2007-2013 spreadsheet). You can, however, upload and store PDF files in your app in file attachment fields.
