New QuickBase Application Templates
We've added ten new application templates. They're available from the Templates tab when you click Create a New Application on the My QuickBase page.
Information Technology Application Templates
These templates have been added to the Information Technology category:
IT Total Management Portal
The one stop shop for an IT team to get the job done! Whether you're managing projects, tracking assets, or resolving issues from team members, this application has it all and can be customized to do it all your way. This application contains the four IT applications listed below. If only certain pieces of the application are needed, each component is available as a separate application in the Information Technology category.
IT Asset Management
Track all of the company's IT assets with one app. Track the location, status, and straight line depreciation schedule of each asset. During the lifecycle of each asset, track maintenance notes, next maintenance schedule, and eventual end result, whether the item was sold, recycled, or discarded.
IT Bug Tracker
An application to track the issues and bugs that plague any workplace or IT environment. Create and track bug records, assign workflow, and follow the history of a bug to its eventual resolution.
IT Project and Release Management
A project management application focused on IT workflow. Use this application with Rapid Application Production processes such as Agile, Scrum, and Lean, or to run every day IT Projects.
IT Ticket Help Desk (released Oct. 10, 2011)
An application that allows employees and company contacts to create IT Help tickets and tracks activities related to those tickets. Use this application as a starting point in end-to-end IT Help Desk workflow, and customize it to meet your specialized needs.
Customer Support Application Templates
These templates have been added to the Customer Support category:
Simple Customer Service Tracker
A simple application to track customers and related interactions. Track phone calls and emails, and upload important documents to the customer record so that customer service representatives have a complete history when assisting customers.
Client Services Call Log
A simple Call Log application to track clients and related interactions. Track clients, log inbound and outbound calls, and schedule future calls or appointments. This application also helps you track the workflow and productivity of employees.
Customer Service Portal
A great way to manage support cases for a customer service team. Track customers and their contact information, and create cases when they need assistance. Use the application to track phone calls and emails exchanged between customer service representatives and customers. The application also gathers feedback through an automated survey that is sent to the customer once their case has been closed so you can make improvements to customer service.
Customer Service Help Desk (released Oct. 10, 2011)
An application to manage customer calls and create support tickets for customer issues. Use this application as a starting point in end-to-end customer service workflow, and customize it to meet your specialized needs.

HIPAA
Are there plans to make QuickBase HIPAA compliant? Is there any way to encrypt the data?
please contact customer support
While software solutions can help with specific HIPAA requirements regarding data monitoring and auditing, most of HIPAA compliance has to do with actions and functions performed by the business.
Customers who intend use QuickBase to store Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined by HIPAA must enter into a Business Associate Agreement with Intuit Inc. in order to comply with HIPAA. Please contact QuickBase Customer Support (http://quickbase.intuit.com/support) to get more information about Business Associate Agreements.
Hope this helps,

When will you update your app
When will you update your app that allows users to populate a Word document template with input from data fields. Right now it only works with old, obsolete Word versions (Ugh!). This one of the differentiators between QB and Salesforce and I can use it because I have a current verions of Word. Please, someone pay attention to this item. The only solution right now is to go to a third party app provider, Juiced Technologies, who charges insane annual rates and up-front set up fees. Help!!! -- Frank

Frank, Your comment on the
Frank,
Your comment on the word document functionality being part of the platform is fine but using this as a way to target a company that provides options for functionality that doesn't exist is not fair or appropriate. We have plenty of clients using our add-ons who recognize the value that they receive in return for the price they pay. They also understand that there is a cost associated with providing that functionality so they accept the additional charges. If its not in your budget to pay for additional functionality or services then that's fine but others might not be in your situation. They are looking for a solution now and are happy to pay for one so that is why they look to companies like Juiced, as well as the other QuickBase Solutions Providers, to satisfy their immediate needs.

possibly fixed?
Hi Frank --
Are you referring to Exact Forms? Our update that went out on October 2, 2011 fixed several issues with this feature that prevented it from working with later Word versions. See http://quickbase.intuit.com/developer/knowledge-base/quickbase-release-n... for details.
Thanks for writing!
