On Sunday, October 24, we’ll release a new version of QuickBase.

Streamlined process for creating apps

In this release, we’ve simplified and streamlined the process you follow to create apps. The Create Applications page presents a tabbed view of the three methods you use to create apps—creating from a template, starting from scratch, and importing data.

On the templates page, it’s now easier to find the template you want. You can search across all templates created by QuickBase and those created by the community. You can browse by category, and can sort your lists of templates by name, date last updated, popularity, and author. When you find the template you want, you create your app in one step—simply click Get It Now and QuickBase creates your app.

If you want to start from scratch, you can go to the From Scratch tab and choose either database or spreadsheet method. And, if you want to start by importing your data, you can import a file or copy and paste.

Bug fixes

This release also contains a bug fix. (As always, all QuickBase releases include bug fixes from previous releases).

Fixed a performance issue in Internet Explorer 6 that occurred when editing a report in the report builder of a table with large number of fields.
