How do I determine the "dfid" of a custom form in my QuickBase application and what can I do with it?
In the table bar on any application page, click the table featuring the form. Within the menu that appears, select Customize --tablename-- table > Forms. Locate the form whose "dfid" you want to discover and click its "Edit Layout" link or button. The URL in the Address bar of the resulting window will display the "dfid" as a number at the end of the URL. The dfid of a form can be used to specify which form to use.
Examples
- If you have a custom form with a "dfid" of twelve, append &dfid=12 to any QuickBase URL that displays a form for adding, viewing or editing a record to specify the use of that custom form.
- To add a new record to a table whose dbid is 7ksjdfk, using the custom form whose dfid is fifteen, use the following URL: https://www.quickbase.com/db/7ksjdfk?a=API_GenAddRecordForm&dfid=15

Dani,
We’re sorry our example caused problems with your table. Please contact Customer Support if you haven’t already done so, and we can help you recover. Meanwhile, this article is on our list to rewrite, since it obviously isn’t performing as advertised. Thanks for writing.
Regards,
