Streamlined process for creating apps

In this release, we’ve simplified and streamlined the process you follow to create apps. The Create Applications page presents a tabbed view of the three methods you use to create apps—creating from a template, starting from scratch, and importing data.

Use a field of type "Formula - URL (Link)". Set the cover text to "Click Here.." and then use a formula to point to a view that selects for only one record based on the Record ID# field which is unique for every record.

Just because an application doesn't appear on the My QuickBase page's application list, doesn't necessarily mean that you can't access it. There are a couple of reasons an application won't appear on your list automatically. If this happens, you can still easily access the application.

Why an application may not appear:

1. In the HEAD section of your Web page, add the following <script> block:

where dddddddd is the database ID and n is the record ID for the record that you want to embed.

All you have to do is use the following URL:

https://www.quickbase.com/db/main?a=api_authenticate&username=yourEmailA...

Just plug your email address (or QuickBase screen name) and password into the appropriate places above. You can make this URL into a shortcut or a bookmark in your browser.

Yes, you can now use QuickBase on your iPhone. While you can access pretty much any QuickBase feature from your phone, Intuit recommends that you limit your activities to using applications only. Find, view and update information in an application, but do not attempt to change the structure of the application via iPhone. Do advanced customizations on a full computer only.
