To maintain rapid application response time, QuickBase does not allow an import of more than 10,000 records containing a User field. (If you're unfamiliar with User fields, please review this help topic.)

The 10,000 record import limit only applies to records containing a User field.

It is possible and quite easy to import data into QuickBase in such a way that it will update existing records. The key to being able to do this is that you must include the key field so that QuickBase knows exactly what records to update. By default the key field is the "Record ID" field.

You should go through these steps to export then reimport records:

If your CSV file has a column in it that maps to the key field of the table then all you have to do is import the CSV file into QuickBase. To learn more, please see our Import Data from Outside QuickBase help topic.

The information in angle brackets uniquely identifies the user so that upon reimporting into QuickBase, QuickBase can unambiguously set the user field to the proper value.

In the July 2011 release, we introduced a QuickBase feature called Copy Master and Detail Records. Use this feature to add a button to a master table that either copies the master record with its detail records, or imports a set of detail records into a different master record. QuickBase maintains relationships and dependencies when copying or importing the records.
