How It Works

Join others at your Company and exchange items you no longer need.

Post things you wish to give away.

What can you post? Anything you wish: household items, kitchen goods, lawn care, tools, office supplies, electronics. When you're done using your stuff, give it away. Others will feel differently and give your old stuff a new life.

You may choose to repurpose office equipment that your team isn't using. An unused file cabinet or printer may be needed by another team. You can mark items as personal or company owned to differentiate between them.

Anyone interested in your stuff can easily contact you through the application. From that point, it's a matter of you bringing your stuff to work and then having your coworker pick it up.

Find items you need.

You can easily search all the postings across your company or post a "request" to see if anyone has an item your need.

Freecycle@Work is also a great way to find items for your favorite charity. Post a request for winter coats or blankets, toys for families or food drive items around the holidays.

Involve others.

Freecyle@Work can be used by your whole company so feel free to share it with as many people as you wish. Groups seem to take-off when approximately 150 people participate - more stuff gets posted, more people contribute and the green impact grows.

Measure your impact.

We use the same standards as the rest of the Freecyle.org network when it comes to measuring impact – so you can see how many pounds of material have been transferred at your company and how that comapares to the rest of the network. Already more than a landfill every day is exchanged rather than discarded.
